The Researcher

I studied religious studies at Heidelberg University until 2011. Today, I am working for the ethics committee of Heidelberg University. This research project is part of my PhD-thesis which I am writing in my spare time after work.

As a religious scholar with a focus on cultural studies, it is important to me to take as "objective" a look as possible at religious communities and religion in general. This does not mean that my perspective is independent of position in the field – objectivity in this sense is not possible. Rather, what is meant is that my research is tied back to the data collected using scientific methods and that the interpretation of this data thus becomes intersubjectively comprehensible.

Besides questions of religious studies at the intersection of digital and material religion and the approach of discursive religious studies, I am interested in questions of medical ethics and the positioning of religious communities on medical ethics issues.
